1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup butter
1 (6-ounce) package (1 cup) semisweet real chocolate chips
1/4 cup finely chopped pecans


1. Line 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly roll pan with waxed paper.
2. Combine sugar and butter in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until candy thermometer reaches 300F or small amount of mixture dropped into ice water forms brittle strands (25 to 30 minutes).
3. Quickly spread into prepared pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips over hot candy; let stand 5 minutes. Spread melted chocolate evenly over candy; sprinkle with nuts. Cool completely; break into pieces.

Makes 1 1/4 pounds.
