Whole Wheat Biscuits..... 48 Biscuits
Flour all-purpose 1lb, 8oz or 1 1/2 qts
Baking Powder 1 1/2oz or 4tbsp
Salt 3/4oz or 1 1/2tbsp
Flour whole wheat 1lb 8oz or 1 1/2qts
Shortening 12oz or 1 1/2cups
Milk approx 2lbs or 4 1/2cups
1. Sift together all-purpose flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in whole wheat flour.
2. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles corn meal. Add milk to make soft dough that leaves sides of bowl.
3. Turn onto lightly greased floured board and knead lightly (about 15 turns).
4. Roll to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with 2 1/2-inch cutter and place on baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees F 10 to 12 minutes
