Ingredients.
1 cup of yellow cornmeal
1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of buttermilk
3/4 cup of self-rising flour
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 cup of water
Directions.
For thinner fritters, increase buttermilk. Mix meal, flour, salt and soda. Stir in buttermilk and water until smooth. Drop by serving spoon in hot oil in skillet, brown on both sides.
