Use this herb blend in any recipe for a substitute for salt.
Ingredients.
5 teaspoons onion powder
2 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 1/2 teaspoons paprika
2 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 1/4 teaspoons thyme1/2 teaspoon ground white or black pepper
1/4 teaspoon celery seed, crushed
Crush and grind celery seed in mortar. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Spoon into a shaker, add a few grains of white rice to keep the mixture dry. Makes about 1/3 cup. If you want to double or triple the recipe, store extra in covered glass jar for up to one year.
