Ingredients.
1 1/2 lbs. lean beef, cut in small strips 1 1/2 lbs. braising ribs salt and pepper
1/2 cup. water
1-19oz. can pineapple chunks
1/4 cup. brown sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 cup. vinegar
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup. green pepper strips
Season beef with salt and pepper and brown slowly in hot fat. Add water. Cover and simmer until tender (1 hour). If braising ribs are used, drain off excess fat. Drain pineapple in separate saucepan. Mix sugar and cornstarch. Add pineapple juice, vinegar, soy sauce and salt. Cook and stir over low heat until think. Pour over hot beef. Let simmer 15 minutes. Add pineapple and green pepper only 2-3 minutes before serving.
