Ingredients.
1-3/4 cups bread flour
1/4 cup Argo or Kingsford's Cornstarch
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons corn oil
1 cup milk
Directions.
1. Sift together the dry ingredients, stir in the corn oil and milk.
2. Drop the mixture by small tablespoons two inches apart on an oiled biscuit pan and bake in a quick over, 375 to 400 degrees For about twenty minutes.

4. Follow the proportions for drop biscuits, using only three-fourths cup milk.
5. Turn the dough onto a board dredged with flour, pat to one-half inch thickness, cut in small rounds, handling as little as possible, place in a pan rubbed with corn oil and bake twenty minutes in a quick oven, 375 to 400 degrees F.
6. To glace the tops, brush with one teaspoon corn syrup mixed with one-fourth cup milk.
