Ingredients.
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup onion
1 cup potatoes
1 cup carrots
1 cup celery or shredded cabbage
3 cups tomato juice
1/4 cup rice, uncooked
3 cups water
3 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon basil
1/4 teaspoon thyme
2 bay leaves
Brown and drain ground beef. Cut vegetables into bite-size pieces. Put all ingredients in large pot. Bring to a boil and simmer 1 hour or put in crockpot and cook on LOW all day.
