2 cup. diced salt beef
2 cup. yellow split peas
1 cup. chopped onions
1 cup. chopped celery
1 cup. diced peeled potato
1 cup. diced turnip
1 cup. diced carrots
Soak beef and peas in cold water over night. Drain and place in pot. Add 8 cups cold water and bring to a boil. Add onions, cover and simmer for 3 hours. Add vegetables. Cook till tender.
